The encounter
In this Bridges for Dialogue Live conversation, Vilma Esquivel and Patricia Vlieg meet Matías Daviron to explore the story and meaning of a work of art connected to peace in Japan, and the ways that memory can continue to create relationships across time and distance.
The conversation opens a path between Panama and Japan, asking how an image, an idea or a creative act can remain alive—and how a journey can bring people together around the story it carries.
Matías has shared that he hopes to visit Japan in October 2027. This page can grow with that journey, the people who join it and the dialogue that emerges.
Images from creative encounters
These photographs capture moments of dialogue, participation and creative expression. The children’s drawings offer a simple, powerful reminder that peace can begin with an image, a question or an idea shared with others.
