Japan's leading world music magazine dedicated a full feature — two articles and a photo spread — to Patricia Vlieg's Lecture Concert at the Minon Cultural Center, marking the 500th anniversary of Panama City.

Headline — by Hanada Katsutoshi, Editor Translation

"The Panamanian singer Patricia Vlieg — a voice that resonated in the hearts of all who heard her."

From the Ambassador's interview — H.E. Ritter Nobel Díaz Gómez Translation

"The first time I heard Patricia Vlieg's beautiful voice was in 2011. She had come to Japan to participate in a charity event supporting recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. She was like an angel that had descended from the sky. I thought to myself: I must have her sing in Japan again one day."

The concert featured the Panama City Ambassador H.E. Ritter Nobel Díaz Gómez, ambassadors and cultural attachés from seven countries, and was accompanied by Japanese violinist Oshikane Takayuki and Panamanian guitarist Vilma Esquivel.

In 2024, Bridges for Dialogue presented collaborative concerts marking 120 years of Panama–Japan diplomatic relations, with support from the Min-On Concert Association (民主音楽協会) — one of Japan's foremost cultural institutions, dedicated to bringing world music to Japanese audiences since 1963.

The concerts brought together Panamanian and Japanese artists in Panama City, supported by both governments and the Min-On organization. The event marked a milestone in the bilateral cultural relationship that Bridges for Dialogue has been building since 2011.
